Mother’s Day 2019: Creative Ways to Show Mom She’s the Best

We have a secret. Your mom is tired the same-old, been-there-done-that celebration for Mother’s Day activities. Brunch at a nice restaurant is lovely, but she knows you can do better. Now is the time to mix it up and show Mom you care and put some effort into planning a special outing.
Fortunately, you don’t need to work too hard. WSL has done the outside-of-the-box thinking for you. Check out this list of fun activities you can do with your Mom on Mother’s Day or give her as a gift do to later this summer.
Cooking class – Whether she’s a master chef or just wants some new ideas, a cooking class is an inspired way to share a meal you’ve prepared together. Check out the new Marco’s Table in Elmhurst. Glamping – Trust us, your mom does not want help put up a tent and sleep on the ground. Instead, consider glamourous camping (glamping). Antiquing – Since 1967, the Kane County Flea Market in St. Charles has been the “Best in the Midwest or Anywhere!” Spend an afternoon wandering the stands to find a one-of-a-kind find she’ll treasure forever. The market is open the first weekend of every month, Saturdays noon to 5 p.m. and Sundays 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Strawberry picking – Mid-June is when juicy strawberries are ripe for picking. Check out these nearby U-pick farms and plan a day trip with Mom to load up on the season’s best.
